From the sixth generation onward, Glock uses a redesigned recoil assembly with only a single recoil spring on the 17 and 49. This is a simple design but can hardly be tuned to ammunition or shooting style. The DPM System completely replaces this factory spring and, with its patented Progressive Triple Spring technology, comes with seven freely combinable recoil springs in three strength ratings.

Depending on the combination of soft, medium and hard springs, the total spring force can be adjusted in fine increments, up to just under 24 pounds with the slide fully open. The Standard version is designed for common factory ammunition in the 115 to 124 grain range and is suitable for sport, competition and training.
