The Walther PDP Full Size is a solid competition pistol out of the box – what it lacks is weight in the grip. That's exactly what this backstrap addresses. It is machined from solid brass and brings around 100 grams where previously just a few grams of plastic sat. This is the heaviest upgrade option LOK Grips offers for the PDP.
The entire rear surface carries LOK Grips' hexagonal honeycomb texture. It provides secure purchase even with wet hands or gloves. The contour matches the medium factory backstrap – if you've been comfortable with that, there's nothing to adjust to.
Additional weight at the lower end of the grip pulls the center of gravity downward. The pistol sits more solidly, muzzle rise is flatter, and the sights return to target faster after each shot. This shows most clearly during fast strings of fire and target transitions – exactly where match time is won or lost.
The plain version shows the brass openly and will darken over time. If you prefer otherwise, an occasional polish takes care of it. The black Cerakote version stays color-consistent and blends unobtrusively into a black pistol, with the same weight and the same texture.
The backstrap, magwell and base pad from LOK Grips are matched to each other. Installing all three in brass extracts the maximum additional weight from the grip: Brass magwell and Brass base pad +0.
